Sprecher Root Beer Mustard Remember back when I ordered all the Sprecher stuff and made my unboxing video? I know it’s been awhile but I just had all those tasty root beers that I was finding so I had to push this one back. But here it is now, finally you can know what I think of root beer mustard! It’s my first “Root Beer Condiment” post. I think that’s a good category. If not I’ll switch it later. This isn’t the only root beer mustard out there so I think it’s a good category. Anyways how does one test root beer mustard? Brats. Yeah. Got some kraut and brats and went to town, slathering this stuff all over it to see how it worked.

It is a nice sweet strong mustard. The sort that goes perfect on brats and polish sausages. You know that style. And then there’s a marked root beer flavor that comes in after the initial mustard part fades, to give the impression of washing down your bite of brat with a gulp of Sprecher root beer.

It’s quite yummy. I truly enjoy this stuff. Good job Sprecher. If it were more conveniently available, I think I’d keep it always stocked in my fridge. This truly epitomizes what a root beer condiment should be. A strong distinct base flavor with a good root beer accent to it. I can’t wait to see how they did with their barbecue sauce.

Sprecher Root Beer Float PopcornYou may remember Sprecher. I love love love their root beer, while their limited edition honey root beer not so much, though it was my 300th review. Anyways, as I’ve expanded into posts on root beer products, I discovered that Sprecher makes some nice additional food stuffs using their root beer. And thus I ordered them all, and made a fun unboxing video cause YouTube is something I’m starting to do, yet not so much so that I’m really advertising it. I mean, kind of, cause I just did, but not really. Anyhow, root beer float popcorn! I’ve never ever heard of such a thing. But I know that flavored and candied popcorn is something that exists so this isn’t too much of a stretch. It’s interesting that there are two types of kernels in this, root beer flavored ones and vanilla ones. It makes me wonder why they don’t make a root beer popcorn as well as the float version. But what you really want to know isn’t that, but will this satisfy your munchies in a root beer sort a way.

The root beer kernals have a nice sweet root beer candy coating. The coating tastes a lot like Sprecher though there’s not the honey flavor that is so prominent in their root beer. The flavor is strong enough that when mixed with the rest of the popcorn kernal, it is still distinguishable as root beer. The vanilla Kernals have a nice rich vanilla cream flavor coating. Together it does kind of give that whole root beer float vibe, in a popcorn sort of way.

I like it. This is very much a root beer munchies treat. I ate half the bag without realizing it, and my family loved it too. So yeah, if you can find this around, definitely get some, or order a bunch from the Sprecher store.

A&W Root Beer Lollipop

When I made my pilgrimage to A&W of Lodi , among the various merchandise I found these lollipops for $0.25 a piece. These little unassuming lollis marked simply with Rooty the Root Bear. These have been made for ages, but my brief internet searching couldn’t reveal much about them. Other than lots of people remember them from their childhood. For my part, I’d never seen them before but was overjoyed to find more things to write about on my trip.

It’s got a strong root beer flavor that tastes unsurprisingly like A&W. This is a welcome departure from the standard generic hard candy root beer flavor, though A&W is still pretty middle-of-the-road. It seems to have a little more minty flavor than normal A&W, but maybe that’s just a function of being in hard candy form, what stands out. It’s quite a sticky flavor too, but all in all yummy.

Hey, it tastes like candified A&W. Who would have guessed? I rank these as some of the better root beer hard candies, even though they’ve all been pretty good so far. Worth snagging a few if you can find them.
